Who this applies to
Use this guide if you are checking Germany B1+ before choosing an exam, paying a centre, or submitting a document. It does not decide eligibility, an exemption, or certificate acceptance for an individual case.
Key decisions
- Identify the authority or institution receiving your proof.
- Confirm the exact certificate, level, exam version, and document format it accepts.
- Verify local booking, ID, fee, result, cancellation, and timing details with official sources.
Detailed explanation
Verify the route before planning the study block
Use this page only after you have checked that B1 is relevant to your route and that the competent authority accepts the proof you plan to use. Study readiness is different from accepted language proof, and accepted language proof is still separate from residence, income, insurance, housing, civic-knowledge and procedure questions.
Adjustable eight-week structure
- Weeks 1–2: Expand vocabulary to work, health, media, and society topics. Daily 20-minute reading drills.
- Weeks 3–4: Listening practice with German news, podcasts, or radio at B1 speed. Weekly timed writing tasks.
- Weeks 5–6: Speaking practice with original topic cards. Record yourself and review weak points.
- Weeks 7–8: Full timed mock sessions (all four modules), weak-area repair, and official format review.
Why this structure works
B1 requires independent language use, not just memorised phrases. A balanced plan should touch reading, listening, writing and speaking regularly, but the exact daily time is your own planning input. If your exam date, work schedule, health, childcare or local centre availability changes, adjust the plan instead of treating the week numbers as a guarantee.
Continue your B1 decision route
Study planning is not a finding that B1 is accepted or that a settlement/citizenship file is eligible. Verify language proof, residence, income, insurance, housing and procedure separately with the competent authority.

Common mistakes
- Booking before confirming the exact proof for the route.
- Using an old price, date, or centre listing without checking the official page.
- Assuming another applicant's outcome applies to your own case.
Next action
Check the official provider or authorised local centre before booking, paying, or relying on a date.
