Germany B1 for settlement permits and citizenship
Use this route to organise a B1 language-proof question. It cannot tell you whether you qualify for a settlement permit or German citizenship. The competent authority must assess your individual application and all non-language conditions.
What B1 can—and cannot—answer
A language certificate may be one item in a settlement-permit or naturalisation file. It does not itself establish residence duration, identity, secure livelihood or income, pension position, health insurance, housing, civic-knowledge evidence, criminal-history treatment, document validity, or procedural eligibility. Those questions can vary by route and authority. VisaLang cannot decide them for an individual case.
Use this decision order
- Verify the receiving authority and your route. Ask which current language and non-language documents it requires for your own application.
- Separate language proof from the rest of the file. Record the exact accepted proof, while maintaining a separate list for residence history, income, insurance, housing, and procedure.
- Compare only accepted language proof. Use the DTZ, Goethe B1 and telc B1 comparison after the authority has named what it accepts.
- Plan the evidence window. Work backwards with the B1 timeline; confirm local appointments, exam results, document currency, and any retake buffer yourself.
- Review your questions, not your eligibility. Use Route Review only as a proposed non-legal service boundary and return to the competent authority for answers.
